Transformation of Intransitive Verbs into Transitive with the Help of Huruf al-Jarr in the Glorious Qur’an – Prof. M.D. Hadi Ahmad Farhan

This paper deals with the transformation of intransitive verbs into transitive verbs with the help of  huruf al-jarr as it occurs in the Glorious Quran. This type of transformation is used in the Glorious Quran to add a new meaning to the existing meaning of the sentence. I have specially dealt with some Qur’anic intransitive verbs

each of which has been transformed into transitive by using a number of huruf al-jarr.

I have divided the paper into two chapters.

In the first chapter deals with a) the transformation of an intransitive verb into a transitive verb, and b) the semantic and grammatical functions of huruf al-jarr.

In the second chapter I have studied some Qur’anic examples of intransitive verbs each of which has been transformed into transitive verbs with the help of different huruf al-jarr. I have tried to understand how the use of different huruf al-jarr effects the meaning of the ayat.
